Belated Happy New Year!
All the faculty, staff, and students at FVSU and the College of Arts and Sciences looked forward to the break and have come back energized and ready to learn and work.
CAS has been working on a developing new programs and concentrations and we hope to get a number of them started this Fall 2015 semester.
- We are awaiting approval from the USG Board of Regents to offer two new B.A. degrees in the Depart of Business Administration:
- Supply Chain and Logistics (which has been a highly enrolled minor at FVSU for a number of years);
- Aviation Management
- The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has developed the following two concentrations:
- Mobile and Web Applications Development;
- Cybersecurity (Information Security)
- The Department of English and Foreign Languages has developed the following two concentrations:
- African-American Literature
- Literary Studies
The recently developed Chemistry minor joins the Nuclear Sciences and Engineering minor as our two newest offerings to students.
We are also forging new partnerships with other schools. Earlier last year FVSU's President Griffith and Central Georgia Technical College's President Allen came together to create a Memorandum of Understanding between the two schools, and near the end of last semester we signed an articulation agreement between CGTC and FVSU making it easier for CGTC students in their Criminal Justice program to transfer into FVSU's bachelor's degree program. We are currently working on articulation agreements in Finance, Marketing, and General Business.
